2017 has seen a change in Government here in NZ, building is still busy but maybe not as busy as it was.

Winter has been very wet, financing from banks tough to get and we have a general election in Sept. So fair to say quite alot of uncertainty. Building activity outlook remain positive.

The market is busy and volatile, but with an underlying weakness in margins. So difficult to make a fair return on investment. Supply chains and exchange rates are proving challenging for a lot of imported product.

We like many expect great things this year. We are optimistic that Building is on the come back trail. Lots of sign that this is the go. The challenge is to make some money from the work.

2013 has been a year of contrasts so far. At times frustratingly quiet and the next so busy you can't keep up. The tone remains positive and especially in Auckland we see things getting busier and busier. Latest Building Statistics point to continued growth in the level of consents being issued for new dwellings.

2013 is going to be a better year for us all, but it sure has started slower than we anticipated. Anecdotal evidence points to actual demand being muted, but better times are around the corner.

Lots of changes to timber supplies in the past 6 months, check out the Timber Stocks section. I have moved house and we helped arrange 2 very successful seminars on Accoya. You could ask for more business but we are still surviving and thats a positive.

Positively a great week. The first week in May was great, we bought a house, attended a Graduation and a friend was honoured by the Governor General. Business was not quite so great. April sales were underwhelming, but some good prospects ahead.

Happy New Year. 2012 will be better than 2011, although to be honest our crystal ball is very cloudy. Undoubtably any improvement will be slight and slow, but still there. Some exciting things happening, new products and opportunities with us here at Timspec.
