Accoya has been awarded the highest level of Declare label

Accoya has recently been awarded the highest level of Declare label … see below.

The Accoya Declare label

  • Accoya has received the Declare label from the International Living Future Institute, who manage the highly acclaimed and most rigorous proven performance based standard for green buildings, the Living Building Challenge:
  • A Declare label transparently discloses the ingredients a building product is made of including the possible related health risks, where it is manufactured, and what happens with it in the End of Life phase.
  • The Declare label helps architects and other specifiers to make informed choices regarding sustainable and healthy material use in their green buildings.
  • The Declare label is especially important in North America, New Zealand and Australia, where it has special locally based partnerships to further encourage adoption and certification of the Living Building Challenge
  • The Declare label for Accoya shows that:

    • It is fully safe regarding ingredients, so called “Red List Free”
    • Disclosed for 100% up to level of 100 ppm, there contributing to LEEDv4 Material Ingredients credit, option 1
    • Made for >99.5% from FSC certified, rapidly renewable Radiata Pine
    • It has a life span of over 50+ years
    • Proves no limitations in End of Life; can either be recycled to e.g. Tricoya panels ( or may eventually biodegrade

A few changes in staff, with some coming and some going. Overall pretty stable. We are looking for some more talent.

Supply dynamics show tight Cedar supplies, US hardwoods in general okay, Kwila decking very interesting. Local timbers we see Radiata clears as being good, but Rimu very poor.
An election, banking issues and shortage of skilled labour makes for interesting times.
